Egyptian authorities have decided to strengthen the state of health emergency and activate preventive measures through all land, sea and air ports to limit the spread of the monkeypox epidemic.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced that these new measures are introduced in the context of continued monitoring of the epidemiological situation of “monkeypox” and related regular publications. At the same time, it continues to increase the level of preparedness of various quarantine departments at airports, ports and land border crossings, and activates all preventive measures and precautions related to the disease at the country’s entry points.
The Ministry of Health’s decision comes in response to the World Health Organization’s declaration that the “Monkeypox” disease (formerly known as “Monkeypox”) is a global health emergency of concern and is within the strategic framework of the Ministry of Health and Population to maintain preventive and precautionary measures at all airports, ports and land crossings quarantine authorities to prevent the entry of communicable diseases into the country.
It is worth noting that the “Mpox” virus was originally called monkeypox. It is transmitted through close contact, mainly through direct contact with the rash, contaminated clothing or bed sheets, or through respiratory droplets from an infected person. Monkeypox infection usually causes painful rashes and blisters on the palm surface.
