JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah H. Amodei has handed over the invitation letter from Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman to President-elect Prabowo Subianto to visit Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador Faisal submitted the letter to Prabowo Subianto, who is also defense minister in President Joko Widodo’s cabinet, during a visit to the Indonesian Defense Ministry on Thursday.

During his visit, he met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).
During his meeting with MBS, Prabowo expressed his belief that the Saudi crown prince could play a greater role in defending justice and humanity for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Ambassadors Prabowo and Faisal agreed during their meeting to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries, especially in high-level military education and joint exercises.
They also agreed to increase the number of military personnel participating in education, courses and joint exercises with Indonesia, according to Brigadier General Edwin Adrian Sumanta, director of the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretary-General’s Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense.
He said defence cooperation had become part of the areas of common interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that Prabowo also stressed the need to strengthen defence industry cooperation.
