His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the importance of arts and culture in raising awareness of the arts in society, and the role of art in strengthening cultural identity and spreading common human and social values among peoples of the world.
This took place during His Highness’ visit to the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts to attend the first scientific conference on the book “The Science of Maqamat” being compiled by the academy.
His Highness noted the interest and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, in cultural and artistic initiatives that contribute to supporting the level of the arts and creative industries sector in Fujairah and the country.
The scientific sessions brought by the various artists involved in the book “The Science of Maqamat” included discussions of the themes of the chapters in the book, detailed explanations of the differences between musical Maqamat, their origins, and the analysis and decoding of some of the musical codes.
Ali Obeid Al Hafeti, Director of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, and members of the team expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for his visit to the academy, his attendance at the conference, and His Highness’s guidance and continuous support for the academy’s activities and work (WAM).
