e-money service operator mKesh’s mobile wallet has modernized its services and achieved exponential growth in transaction volumes and customer base by 2023 by implementing the Ericsson platform, a global leader in this field.

The technological solution will help expand the source of financial transactions for mKesh, thus contributing to the country’s economic and digital development. With the modernization of technology, the mKesh service is expected to be launched exclusively in mid-August. In the market, unlimited voice and data packages will be sold, as well as bills of the telecom operator Mozambique Telecom (Tmcel) will be paid through mKesh.

“We are committed to financial inclusion, which is why we encourage people to use our service to pay for things like water and electricity bills, which builds an ecosystem that is generated by withdrawals and deposits,” said Celso Ferreira, general manager of the mobile wallet.

Still in terms of investment in innovation, Celso Ferreira said mKesh will also soon implement a physical and reference service to simplify the payment of tuition fees in the country’s educational institutions. This physical and reference service also allows charging cards to be topped up without paying bribes, thus avoiding trips to the bank and wasting time.

Meanwhile, to ensure that mobile wallet customers have the freedom to manage their finances in an easy and affordable way, all transfers between each other, as well as payments for water bills, electricity bills, TV subscriptions (ZAP, TVCABO, Startimes and TMT) and purchases on mKesh are free.
