On the eve of the international conference on the Yerevan Dialogue, which will be held on September 9-11 at the initiative of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in his speech:

“The world is changing rapidly before our eyes. The evolving landscape of global relations, the erosion of international law, and the crisis of multilateralism pose serious challenges. Democracy is under pressure. Reduced cooperation for peace and security threatens to undermine the very essence of the global order. Hybrid threats and climate change continue to affect daily life in more parts of the world.

At the same time, we also see the pursuit of better connectivity and new routes between Asia and Europe, as well as significant digitalization, innovation and technological advances.

All of these changes make it clear that strong, like-minded, values-based partnerships are more important than ever.

Our South Caucasus region, which has always been a cultural nexus and a major trade route, is now at a critical crossroads. The region has been facing tremendous upheavals, some of which have deeply affected the lives of the people and the overall economic development of the region, as well as the present and future of the region. We are at a historic moment with a real opportunity to make the right choices and embark on the right path towards a more peaceful, secure and prosperous future.

Dialogue and open conversation are both prerequisites and unique ways to fill the gaps. Held for the first time in the Armenian capital, the Yerevan Dialogues will provide an important platform for asking critical questions, expressing different opinions, and gathering insights while seeking sustainable solutions. With this in mind, we have invited leaders and experts from the fields of diplomacy, politics, business, academia, and culture from more than 80 countries and organizations. We look forward to contributions from all aimed at addressing the pressing issues of our time, shaping tomorrow today. ”
