Ministry of Agriculture: Our wheat data is correct

[ad_1]

Series of steps:

The estimate of wheat crop production was prepared by a joint committee of the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Agriculture based on a random sampling study conducted by a group of specialized research teams through field visits to agricultural areas, where they identified the areas where cultivation took place. These committees, in their reports to the Food Conference, confirmed all the areas cultivated with rain-fed and irrigated soils and estimated the production based on actual data, providing a summary. The production in the security zone was estimated at 660,000 tons, and the seeds distributed were 25,000 tons, which means that a total of 700,000 tons were sold, and these quantities account for 70% of the total production so far. , It is estimated that 700,000 tons, or 70%, the other part, or 30%, remains with the farmers for bulgur, freekeh and other needs, and it is known that Syrian farmers, and their usual behavior, reserve a large amount of wheat for various purposes.

The data from the Ministry of Agriculture is correct, but the data that is circulated and questioned is wrong. All data was submitted to the Grain Council and a marketing plan was drawn up to price wheat at 5,500 liras per kilogram to achieve a good profit. Farmers, achieve stability and continue to farm.

The Ministry is keen to ensure the success of all crops, but due to climate change occurring between reduced rainfall and rising temperatures, which constitute the determining factors of yields, climate variables have instead become stressors for yields in all aspects, not just agriculture. In April, the rainfall required by crops decreased, and temperatures rose and reached their limits, negatively affecting productivity.

As we all know, wheat is grown rain-fed and irrigated, which means it is a winter crop that is subject to climatic conditions that limit productivity.

The Ministry of Agriculture appreciates any opinion and any observations and comments by everyone on the productivity achieved, but weather conditions have a negative effect, the Ministry seeks to reduce it as much as possible, but it cannot face climate change and continue to take all necessary measures to enable the farmer to continue production, helping him to overcome all difficulties, this year the Ministry has provided farmers with everything they need for their crops such as seeds, fertilizers and fuel, thus achieving stability and agricultural needs, but climatic conditions still have another effect and reason that limits agricultural production.
