On July 1, 2024, Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Agio Pereira, met with a group of national doctors at the Government Palace. The meeting aimed to discuss the doctors’ concerns and suggestions regarding the current state of the health sector in Timor-Leste. 
The doctors conducted a detailed diagnosis of the department and recommended a number of measures to improve the quality of health services.
Minister Agio Pereira expressed support for the proposed measures and stressed the importance of the sector’s reform plan and the establishment of a physician order. He also highlighted the evolution of the health system since 2002, recognizing the need for interventions to improve health care delivery and ensure population confidence in the national health system.
