Aissa Mendi was sent off in extra time during a Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahce.
The Algeria international defender, who joined from Villarreal a few weeks ago, was on the bench in the first leg and came on in the 81st minute to replace Thiago Mendes, inside a three-man defence.
Although the score was 0-0, allowing Lille to qualify for the play-offs, Diakite scored an own goal in stoppage time and the two teams had to go into extra time.
In the 109th minute, Aisha Mendy was sent off with a red card for a high kick to the opponent’s head.
Mendy was sent off after making this very dangerous gesture towards a Fenerbahce player.
