Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Command Council Maj. Gen. Aidarous Zubaidi received US Ambassador to Yemen Stephen Feigin on Saturday afternoon.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador expressed condolences to Major General Zubaidi on behalf of his government, and expressed condolences for a group of armed forces heroes who died in a terrorist attack against the army. The previous week, we visited the Support Forces military camp in Abyan governorate and reiterated the Yemeni government’s position in support of the fight against terrorism and strengthening security and stability in Yemen.
In this regard, Major General Zubaidi stressed that the armed forces are determined to continue the war on terrorism, pursue extremists, strike at their nests until they are eliminated and eradicated, which will strengthen security and stability throughout the liberated provinces and protect the lives of the people. Regional and international interests, called on the United States of America and the regional and international community to support and support the armed forces in their efforts to fight terrorism and eliminate the root causes of terrorism.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Body of the Presidential Leadership Council, Mohammed Ghedi, and Dr. Nasser al-Hubaji, a member of the Consultative Body, and also discussed the latest developments in the conflict and the political situation, as well as the efforts related to the UN-led political process to bring peace to our country. In this regard, Major General Zubaidi once again stressed the significance of the Leadership Council and all the efforts included in its framework. He stressed that the international community must assume its responsibilities and put an end to the sabotage and terrorist attacks by the Houthis on international shipping routes in the Red Sea, the Strait of Mandeb and the Gulf of Aden as a condition for the resumption of the success of peace efforts, noting that it is impossible to achieve lasting peace in view of the Houthis’ terrorism on land and at sea.
Major General Zubaidi also reiterated his call on brotherly and friendly countries to increase their support and support for the Presidential Leadership Council and enhance its cohesion, stressing the importance of issuing the working regulations of the Presidential Leadership Council and activating the working regulations of the Joint Negotiation Team to represent the Security Council in any upcoming negotiations.
The US Ambassador reiterated his administration’s support for the Presidential Command Council and its efforts to unify the internal front against the Houthi militias, and reiterated that the United States of America supports all efforts to end the war and defeat the Houthis and bring a just and sustainable peace to Yemen.
