United States Geological Survey Questionnaire Public feedback will be collected on open water waterfowl hunting and regulations in Wisconsin. Hunter input will help natural resource managers develop open water regulations that will be in effect during the 2021 through 2025 waterfowl hunting seasons.
The hunting season opens on October 15 and ends on December 13.
The new open water zones will begin 500 feet offshore and extend to the Wisconsin-Michigan border. Hunters can provide feedback on the season structure of the open water zones, such as opening dates, whether the zones should be divided when hunting is prohibited, and the number of days the divisions should last, if necessary. The survey will also collect detailed information on where and what species of waterfowl are taken in these open water environments.
The survey will be open for a short period each year and will continue until 2024.
United States Geological Survey Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin Waterfowl Association Hunters encouraged to complete 2022 survey online.
