Miss Nausori, Manshika Prasad, 24, will represent Fiji at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant to be held in Mexico in mid-November.
The contestant from Lackner, who is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Australia, was selected from nine other contestants at a gala awards ceremony held at the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Pacific Harbour on Friday night.
After completing her primary and secondary education at Saraswati Primary School and Bhavani Dayal Arya College in Manoka, Manshika went abroad for further studies.
She is passionate about speaking out against domestic violence.
“This cause is very personal to me because I have witnessed the devastating impact it has on individuals and families.”
“I am not pursuing this title for show, glamour or personal gain. Instead, my goal is to use the Miss Universe platform to give a voice to those who have been silenced by fear and violence.”

The Miss Universe Fiji pageant marks the country’s return to the Miss Universe global stage after 43 years.
The finalists showcased their elegance in three breathtaking fashion shows.
The event was hosted by official emcee Tracey Ann Farrington and host and judge Raj Suri, with Raj also in charge of the voiceovers and category awards, including the crowning ceremony.
Dressed in swimwear, resort wear designed by Tracey Ann Farrington and gowns designed in their own styles, the contestants enchanted the audience with their beauty and confidence.
The Miss Universe Fiji crown was presented by the organisation’s director of marketing, events and sponsorships, Grant Dwyer, while judges also handed out category awards.
Susan Ranadi, 23, and Nadine Roberts, 30, tied for second place.
The esteemed judges included Paris Jade (Miss Fiji Universe – Country Director), Grant Dwyer (Miss Fiji Universe – Director of Marketing, Events and Sponsorships), Natalie Marletta (General Manager, Pearl Fiji Resort and Spa), Riri Febriani (Lux Projects Fiji), Raj Suri (Photographer, Bollywood Co-Producer, Actor and Talent Mentor), Jennifer Chan (American TV Host, Fashion and Beauty Expert) and Melissa White (South Pacific Director, Seakeepers.org).
