Taylor Swift was scheduled to perform three Eras Tour concerts at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium, but they were canceled after the planned attack came to light.
The main suspect in the planned bomb attack on a concert of American pop singer Taylor Swift in Vienna was looking for a place to buy detonators, a friend of his testified to police. TASR informed of this based on a report by the DPA and APA agencies on Sunday.
When the 15-year-old’s friend asked the 19-year-old suspect what he planned to do with the detonator, he responded, “You’ll hear about it.” According to him, the fifteen-year-old did not consider himself a suspect capable of carrying out a terrorist attack.
The suspect, Beran A., is an Austrian national from North Macedonia who is currently detained in Austria. According to investigators, he pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group and admitted to planning the attack last week. A 17-year-old accomplice who was supposed to provide him with moral support was detained with him.
