San Juan City Police arrested a man in the early hours of Thursday, August 8, 2024, for allegedly damaging the sculpture of composer “Tite” Cuore Alonso located in the Plaza de Armas, Rafael Cordero Street, at the intersection of San Francisco Street, in the town of San Juan.
According to Uniformed Newspaper, police were conducting preventive patrols at the location when they spotted a 41-year-old man causing damage to the famous statue.
The complaint does not describe or estimate the damages.
Municipal authorities will hear the case in a San Juan court on Thursday morning for possible charges against those arrested.
They found the decomposed body of a man in Bayamon with gunshot wounds and partial burns
Agents from the Bayamon Sur Police Department are investigating a violent death that occurred on Wednesday at the ranch on Highway 830, 6.6 km, in the Santa Olaya community of Bayamon town, police reports said.
According to the information provided, the police received a call from the 9-1-1 emergency system and found a deceased person in a decomposing state. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found the body of a man with gunshot wounds and partial burns. The body was in a decomposing state and has not yet been identified.
Special Agent Vivian Acevedo Jiménez is in charge of the investigation, together with prosecutor Arlene González, under the supervision of Chief Julio Figueroa Hernández of the Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Bayamon.
