Alfred Ababio Kumi, a correspondent of the New Patriotic Party, has said that John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, is the president that Ghana’s Fourth Republic never wanted.
His statement stems from Mahama’s speech at the launch of the NDC manifesto where Mahama described the New Patriotic Party and President Akufo-Addo as a political scam.
Alfred Ababio, in a post shared on X, said the NDC flagbearer’s remarks were disturbing.
He said: “It is very disturbing that @JDMahama said during his speech at the manifesto launch that the NPP and President Addo are a political scam.”
Alfred Ababio said the NDC flagbearer was not qualified to speak on corruption considering his track record.
He called Mahama a world-famous political liar.
“John Mahama is talking about corruption, JIDA, John Mahama SADA, bus brand John Mahama. When Guinea Fowl comes back, he should come back and talk about corruption. Then you hear John Mahama saying that the NPP is a political scam. I can say with authority, as I sit here, John Mahama is the president that Ghana never wanted. John Mahama is the president that Ghana never wanted in this fourth republic. Check his record. He has every right to call someone a liar. If we talk about world-renowned political liars, it is John Mahama.”
He further accused John Mahama of making claims against the free SHS policy.
“You told us that you started free SHS, go and look at the details that you started free SHS, it was included in the 2015 or 2016 budget, you paid GH¢38 for those who paid more than GH¢450. The NDC and John Mahama told us that it would take us 20 years to implement free SHS. Thank God, we found someone who was competent enough, who said if we have to implement free SHS, we have to do it now. He did not just implement it for day students, he said if it is free, it has to be free for everyone.”
He added: “Today John Mahama said he will give us jobs. Isn’t he the one who said he is not a magician? Isn’t he the one? Or has he been to India to perform magic? If he comes back from India, they should tell us,” Alfred further said in the video.
“This confuses me. They started with the same scam saying they implemented the National Health Insurance Scheme. In 2003, when the bill was sent to Parliament for passage, they left Parliament. Look at the facts. So, what are they telling us. So who is more of a political liar and cheat than his people?”
