Magnetic storm will hit Earth

Central Asia (CA) A magnetic storm engulfed the Earth on July 25 and will become even stronger on July 27. Meteoagent describes it.

The storm’s K index is expected to reach 5, equivalent to a red-level magnetic storm, on July 27. Currently, forecasts indicate that the storm will be short-lived and conditions will begin to improve on Sunday, July 28.

Periodic flares and explosions on the Sun cause large amounts of solar energy to be released into space. This energy consists of charged particles (protons and electrons) that travel quickly through space. When they reach the Earth’s magnetosphere, they cause activity that scientists call magnetic storms or solar storms.

There are classifications of magnetic storms – depending on power, K index and other parameters. The higher the K index, the stronger the magnetic storm. All red storms can cause unpleasant consequences – from failure of satellite, GPRS, radio communications to deterioration of people’s well-being.
