Made in Qatar 2023 exhibition opens – Gulf News Qatar

The ninth edition of the “Made in Qatar” exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry.

The inauguration was attended by HH Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, HE Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Council, and HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Businessmen Association.

The opening ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Twal Al Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of QC, His Excellency Rashid bin Hamad Al Atba, Second Vice Chairman, and several members of the Board of Directors and General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, as well as a group of businessmen and representatives from various companies interested in the industry.

The four-day exhibition was co-organized by Qatar Chamber and Qatar Ministry of Commerce, and supported by a number of sponsoring companies and institutions. A total of 450 companies and factories participated in the exhibition.

After the opening ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the Qatar Committee visited the exhibition hall and listened to the briefings on the participating companies and their products.

Qatar-Saudi Business Council reviews exchanges to promote trade and investment.

They also witnessed the opening of Giza Glass Containers, a subsidiary of Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company. The factory specializes in the production of glass containers for packaging water, soft drinks, dairy products and various foods.

In a statement, His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber, expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for his generous sponsorship of the Expo. He stressed that His Highness’s patronage of previous Expos demonstrates His Highness’s interest in the industry and its role in the country’s inclusive development.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa also thanked His Highness the Minister of Commerce and Industry for opening the exhibition and praised the cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in organizing the event and supporting Qatari industry. He also stressed the role of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in addressing all obstacles faced by the private sector so that it can play its due role in economic development.

Furthermore, he stressed the enthusiasm of local businesses for the extensive participation in the Expo, with a total of 450 companies and factories expressing their interest in presenting their products and services to the business community and visitors.

He also stressed that this important participation also reflects the strong interest of local companies in promoting their products in the local market, with the aim of achieving the desired self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on imports.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa highlighted the diversity of the participating industries, covering six sectors including petrochemicals, furniture, food, SMEs, services and others. He noted that the exhibition provides an opportunity to learn about the latest products and services in the industrial sector.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts and investors, learn about successful companies operating in the state, and gain insight into their abilities to grow their businesses and become more competitive.

The Qatar Chamber Chairman called on businessmen, investors interested in the industry and company representatives to visit the exhibition to learn about Qatari products and meet with Qatari manufacturers. He affirmed that the expo is also a platform for Qatari investors to hold bilateral talks with their foreign counterparts, helping to facilitate deals and promote alliances and partnerships in the industrial sector.
