The president of Datanalisis, Luis Vicente León, confirmed on Wednesday that the presidential elections of July 28 are the most difficult electoral process faced by Chavismo in its 25 years of rule.
“What concerns me about this event is that in the 25 years of the Venezuelan revolution, it has never faced such a difficult and complex electoral event in terms of numbers,” he declared to Globovisión’s Primera Página.
“It was the first time that the opposition was truly united and had a strong candidate, despite the fact that there were other candidates. “Just one candidate from the institutional opposition achieved what had never been achieved before in a field that had never been united.”
Regarding the possibility of MUD cards being removed from the game through TSJ, León asserted that it is possible.
«The resources of the TSJ can help us do this. We know it’s unfair, just like the disqualification of María Corina Machado, which I think is unfair and unconstitutional, but the government can certainly disable the card. And not only this card, but also the disqualification of candidate Edmundo González Urrutia. ”
Likewise, he warned that the opposition must be prepared to mobilise voters, especially in the country’s interior.
«The mobilization process is crucial. “You can’t trust that people will spontaneously go to vote, because despite the interest and desire, they will have to pay for gas, move their car and the many risks of clashes at the voting table,” he warned.
“If they’re spying on you, you could lose your job or stop getting Clap rewards.”
He therefore called on the opposition to “motivate by giving hope, but also to ensure liquidity.”
