The European blueberry, also known as lingonberry, has produced fewer flowers this year, but the weather conditions are particularly favorable, which means the yield will be better.
Although the lingonberry harvest in southern Finland is expected to be similar to previous years, the lingonberry harvest in other parts of Finland is expected to be better than in previous years this year.
Heat wave will not affect lingonberry harvest
The lingonberry season has ended across Finland. This year the flowers were abundant and the number of unripe berries was above average.
Excellent lingonberry harvests are expected in Kantasheim, Savo, North Karelia, Kainuu and Northeast Finland, and a good harvest is also expected across the country.

“It takes extreme heat to ruin a huckleberry crop,” he said.
Currently, the cloudberry picking season is in full swing.
Pertola reminded berry lovers to be safe when picking berries.
