(CNS): A video on YouTube shows a group of local gang members showing off guns they made using a 3D printer. The video was made by “Mr Triper,” a man from Eastern Europe who is known as an extreme traveler. He makes travel videos that show what he describes as the “dark side” of destinations around the world. He recently passed through the Cayman Islands on his way from Cuba to Honduras, where he interviewed men in the West Bay area with the help of some people he met online.
In the video, local men, without masks or disguised voices, tell Mr. Tripper about their drug business and show him the drugs. They tell him why they do it, what murders have happened, how much it costs to “beat a guy to death,” the friends they’ve lost to gun violence, gang warfare and the weapons they carry.
Police have confirmed they are aware of the video but declined to say what action will be taken over the blatant display of guns and drugs on the YouTuber’s channel, which has about 84,000 subscribers, and a video that has been widely circulated on local social media platforms.
Cayman Islands Government Recently passed legislation It explicitly prohibits 3D printing of guns and their parts, and increases penalties for illegal possession of guns, regardless of whether they have been used in a crime. Those found guilty could face a minimum of ten years in prison.
