Arthur Vermeeren (19) is leaving Atletico Madrid. The Red Devils, who moved to the Spanish top club from Antwerp six months ago, are looking for playing time. Atletico cannot offer this and therefore want to cooperate on a loan. The most specific are three clubs: RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille.
RB Leipzig was already interested in him in January, but then let Atletico grab the cake. Now it wants to attack, especially because midfielders Javier and Assan Ouedraogo are out. For Atletico, it doesn’t matter where Vermeeren goes, as long as he can gain experience there. The club is reluctant to have a purchase option in a possible deal: it still firmly believes in Vermeeren’s potential.
Vermeulen was not on the bench for the first league game against Villarreal. Although he believes he has made great progress since moving to La Liga, he agrees that he must start games now. That doesn’t seem to work at Atletico. The club has just gained another rival in Conor Gallagher.
Lederer is also studying Lukaku
These are busy days for Sebastien Leydure, the sports lawyer who guides Vermeeren. He is also busy with the transfer of Romelu Lukaku (31). The striker has gone off track and wants to go to Napoli. Italy is expected to push hard for a deal in the coming days/weeks. Negotiations are going well.
