A search operation was launched on Saturday for a man in his 40s who had been missing since Thursday.

– Western Police Area Command Operations Manager Ingrid Teigland Tepstad said we searched until complete dark last night.

Additionally, she said plans are in place to begin the search again Sunday morning.

– She said that we will start a thorough search together with several personnel of the armed forces and other volunteers.

The Home Guard reportedly needs 150 people.

The missing person should be wearing grey or black hiking pants, a grey, white or black T-shirt and black hiking shoes. He is tall and thin.

Police are asking residents in the Laksevåg, Solheimsviken, Lyngbø and Nygård areas to check basements, sheds, garages, camera surveillance and any sheds.
