The elections for the Executive Committee that will lead the Rwanda Swimming Association for the next four (4) years took place at the Sports Ministry meeting room.
The Rwanda Swimming Association will be led by Cynthia Umunyana, succeeding Girimbabazi Ruganira Pamela who has been at the helm for four (4) years.
After being elected to the position, Umunya Cynthia said the first thing she should consider is to start with what has been done and then look at what will be done.
“Basically, we have to look at what’s already been done and then try to work with members and others who want to join to see what can be done to improve the game.”
He found out that one of the projects he started was to build a lap pool (swimming pool) of international standards, a project he said would continue where it was delivered by the committee appointed at that time.

The Executive Committee is elected for a four-year term
Among others elected, the first vice president is Rusamaza Bayiro Alphonse, who replaced Uwitono Jean Sauveur, and the second vice president is Umuhoza Betty, who replaced Uzabakiriho Innocent who was accustomed to those duties.
The secretary general became Florence Volunteer, replacing Zacinda James, and the treasurer became Muhimiyimana Chantal, who already held that position.
The interim committee of the Swimming Association, led by Jilinbabazi Pamela, elected on January 26, 2020, thanked the people who co-led the association for their efforts and asked those elected to continue the competition.
