This meeting is centered around two main aspects: “It is an educational action to remind you of your mission, to get to know each other better through contacts, so that we can speak a common language and look in the same direction;” It is an educational action to remind you of the mission you have, but also to provide you with the legal weapons to regulate tourism and urge you to comply with them for our common good, ”said Minister Dukaga.
She clarified that travel agencies must comply with the requirements of the sector. In addition to selling tickets and other related activities, they are also invited to participate in the development and promotion of tourist routes to market Congolese destinations. “These products, although competitive, must meet market requirements. The educational action also includes reminding you that, first of all, you are a professional in the sector, which means you are obliged to comply with the current regulations.
Minister Dukaga invited those who have not yet met the criteria to comply with their activities or face prejudice. “Each participant must obtain these authorizations from the General Directorate of Tourism and Leisure by August 31, 2021, the deadline for awareness measures. Tourism and hospitality are a major issue for each of us and for our country and they must be clearly defined.
“By the quality of your services, business policies and attractions, tourists coming to the country will make the first judgement on the level of Congolese hospitality, according to the law. You have a permanent demand for excellence and competitiveness in order to consolidate the foundations of our cooperation. It is in the same spirit that we send you a notification inviting you to comply with the regulations governing the granting of operating authorizations.”
Noting that we call on you for your rigor and professionalism, Minister Dukaga assured partners that her department was open to receiving their suggestions and questions in writing. She said she was open to dialogue.
