Lapid outlines the first outlines of the ‘Gaza envelope’ massacre… and exposes Netanyahu’s lies – from Israeli media

It’s hard to overestimate the significance of the testimony given by opposition leader Yair Lapid before the civilian commission of inquiry into the October 7 debacle. He laid out in detail the briefings he received; the intelligence information he obtained; the warnings he heard; and the conversations he had with the authorities, all in the relatively short period of time since the summer of 2023. It’s all there. The writing is clear, judging by the headlines, and the path to disaster is clear… but who doesn’t know that?

Lapid gave specific dates, names and places. However, Likud immediately sensed the tension and immediately launched a series of nonsense stories, such as “Lapid threatened Israel’s security and gave gas to Hezbollah” (which is not true, by the way). Even the lies spread by these people are repeated in a boring way.
The image created by Lapid’s chilling testimony is: horrible. This proves to us that Netanyahu will never form a formal investigative committee. Likud slogans and announcements about the failure of the investigation have not changed in the past 11 months and still carry the same elusive formulas prescribed by the party leadership, such as: “After the war, there will be time to ask questions”. In fact, of course, Netanyahu does not intend to form an investigative committee, or even a government investigative committee, but at the same time, he does not want any government to succeed him to form one. Therefore, we wait until “after the war”, the longest war in our history. Didn’t our ancestors say in ancient times that those who are impatient are ghosts?
Meanwhile, as a precaution, Likud is trying to wrest the power to appoint future committees from the Supreme Court President; or they try to put the favorite of the Judicial Coup Organization, Judge Joseph Elron, as the Supreme Court President. He may appoint Talya Einhorn, Kinneret Barashi and Meir Ben-Shabbat (government supporters) to the committee. These people will not stir up a thousand waves with one stone: Vrapid, Naftali Bennett, Shimon Peres, Ariel Sharon, the “War Brothers” organization and Aharon Barak (former Supreme Court President). All of them will be responsible except Netanyahu.
Netanyahu’s only valid argument is that no one woke him up on the night of October 6-7, similar to the inquest into the disastrous rise of the Nazis and the outbreak of World War II, based on incomplete Polish intelligence information, published on September 1, 1939, which made no mention of any British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.
So, until now, we are still stuck in the faltering process of the investigation conducted by the State Auditor (who is accused of being loyal to Netanyahu), which requires us to raise questions automatically, while we have the Civilian Investigative Committee, which is the core of the investigation. This committee was formed on October 7th with the families of the victims and hostages. As the influence of this committee grows, we will witness the familiar attacks from the Likud pus center, which we are all familiar with: “Who will investigate with the investigators?!”
That’s not all. The failure to investigate becomes critical, especially given the endlessness of the war and the lack of any military strategic vision. Instead, the course of the war depends only on Netanyahu remaining in power. Especially when this is consistent with Netanyahu’s religious belief that he will save Israel. How can you believe this nonsense? The person who can deceive Benjamin Netanyahu the most is Benjamin Netanyahu himself? That’s why he is so good at it.
This can be clearly seen in the recordings of Netanyahu and his wife meeting with the female survivors of captivity (reported by journalist Yolan Cohen on Channel 12). We noticed in these recordings that Netanyahu’s monologues have not received the attention they deserve. In response to the women’s pleas to sign a hostage rescue agreement, he has chosen to portray himself as the protector of Israel’s security.
He is not a protector of Israel in the October 7th massacre. This news is already very old. Instead, he says to them: Where does what happened to us on October 7th compare to what happened to us during the Holocaust? The number of Jewish deaths in the Holocaust was 4500-5500 times the number of deaths in Hamas attacks, and it is increasing every day!
