On Thursday, the government signed an agreement with Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International. The agreement marks the approval of a long-planned project to expand and revitalize the Grand Bahama Shipyard, which will invest $600 million to build a new dry dock and improve facilities in Freeport. The expansion will make the shipyard the largest floating dry dock ship repair facility in the Western Hemisphere by 2026, providing a significant boost to the island’s economy.
