Lampung – A total of 10 Nigerian foreigners (WNA) and 1 Indonesian female citizen were arrested by the police Three types of immigration offices Non-TPI Kalianda in East Lampung Regency. The 11 were arrested by immigration officials at a shophouse (Ruko) in Kariyatani Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung on Friday (26/7/2024).
The arrest was confirmed by Sorta Delima Tobing, head of the Lampung Law and Human Rights Ministry (Kemenkumham) regional office (Kakanwil).
“Yes, our immigration officers are prosecuting and protecting 10 foreigners and one Indonesian woman,” said Sota, Wednesday (31/7/2024).
Solta said the two foreigners and an Indonesian citizen were arrested for suspected love scam activities, or romantic love scams targeting female victims.
“Like a scam, we will communicate the details in a press release tomorrow,” he said.
Sota said the 10 Nigerian foreigners arrested were men and one Indonesian citizen was a woman.
“The Indonesian woman was known as the landlady or she was the one who facilitated the accommodation for 10 Nigerian foreigners,” he said.
When asked for details about the love scam, Solta said his party is still coordinating with immigration officials who carried out the operation.
