Labour’s communications director has resigned for undisclosed reasons.
Ronald Vassallo was appointed to the role in 2020, just weeks after Robert Abela was elected Labour leader and named prime minister. It is understood he will continue in the role until the party’s two deputy leaders are elected in mid-September.
Vassallo declined to comment.
He is one of a number of Labour and government officials who have left the prime minister’s side in recent weeks.
