Labour Department holds seminar to raise awareness of occupational safety and health norms

Today, the Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, the International Labour Organization and the Qatar Red Crescent Society, held an awareness seminar under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable Work Environment” to present guidelines on occupational safety and health in workplaces and residential areas.
The seminar, distributed to employees and workers of Banana Island Resort, falls within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s efforts to protect workers in workplaces and residential areas, raise their awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health, and encourage them to adopt good practices to prevent risks and injuries at work.
During the seminar, representatives of the Ministries of Labour and Public Health, the Qatar Red Crescent Society and the International Labour Organization presented methods to prevent accidents and heat stress, explained the principles of maintaining occupational safety and health, and provided practical training on how to provide first aid in emergency situations.
The Ministry of Labour aims to create awareness among workers, employees and employers on work safety and health culture through a series of awareness workshops and seminars held regularly throughout the year, introduce them to good health behaviours and work together to create a sustainable, safe and healthy working environment for all workers.
