The thoracic surgery medical team at King Saud University Medical City has removed a cancerous tumor from the lung of a 70-year-old patient using a surgical robot. The team leader, Dr. Soha Kaaki, explained that the presence of a cancerous tumor in the lung was immediately discovered after the case was diagnosed, and a special medical team was formed. After reviewing the case, the surgical team decided to use a surgical robot to perform a segmentectomy through a small incision of no more than 1 cm, adding that this operation is one of the most accurate and rare in the Kingdom, confirming that the tumor was completely removed – thank God – and the patient was discharged two days after recovery in good health.

It is noteworthy that the Medical City of King Saud University is an outstanding medical reference, where the latest and most complex surgeries are performed using advanced technologies under the management of consultants with international expertise.
