My Goud(e) or Goux or Gout ancestor is this man who was born about 1744. He married Rehannas McGary in 1785 in Winthrop, Lincoln County, Maine. He was a member of the Goud family, which was part of the group of Huguenots that traveled from Amsterdam to Boston on the ship Priscilla in 1751. Most of the passengers went to Maine and settled. Lazarus probably arrived in Boston on a later immigrant ship. He is said to have come to Pownalboro, Lincoln, Maine in 1759, not with his father, Jean George Goud, who came to Maine on the ship Priscilla in 1751. I cannot directly connect him to any Goud in Maine. Records show that he was connected to Goud people in Maine, especially James Goud, the son of Jean George Goud, who married Nancy Cane. If anyone has come across Lazarus Goud or a similar surname with “Lazarus” I would be grateful to hear from him.Thanks, Bill Wood
