Security forces in Katsina State have reportedly arrested a woman, Aisha Abubakar, for allegedly transporting ammunition to terrorists.
Security analyst and counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported the incident on Monday.
According to Makama, the ammunition was found during a routine search of Abubakar’s luggage.
“The authorities found the ammunition in her luggage during a routine search,” he said.
The suspect initially denied being involved in the illegal activity. However, Makama reported that she later admitted her involvement in the operation.
“She initially denied involvement but later admitted to transporting ammunition to the terrorist group from Nasarawa State,” Makama explained.
Further interrogation revealed more details about the ammunition’s intended destination.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed that she was travelling to Yan Tumaki in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State,” Makama wrote.
To the authorities It further emphasized the significance of this arrest in the larger context of the fight against terrorism.
“This incident highlights the importance of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and remaining vigilant against the proliferation of illicit weapons,” he said.
