Kasuku, a well-known journalist, has issued a stern warning to musicians who signed up for SACCO funds but now refuse to accept them, suggesting that they could face jail time.

Kasuku stressed that many musicians are now claiming that they have not received funds despite having signed up for it.
“Every musician who signed up to receive SACCO funds and refused to accept them is likely to be imprisoned. I saw Eddy Kenzo lamenting that some musicians received the money but are now refusing to accept it” Kasuku said in a YouTube interview.
The warning comes amid the ongoing controversy over the government’s disbursement of Uganda Shs13 billion to the entertainment industry through the Uganda National Musicians’ Federation (UNMF) SACCO.

Musicians have expressed great dissatisfaction with the process by which these funds are allocated.
Notably, UNMF head Eddy Kenzo has been accused by some musicians of mismanaging releases.
However, Kenzo has consistently pointed out that the artists who have expressed disappointment are the very beneficiaries of the fund.
