Cain Mathema Stroke
By Political Reporter — Former Education Minister Cain Mathema has suffered a stroke, highlighting the fragility of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inner circle.
Ailing Vice President Kembo Mohadi, who recently collapsed at a public event, visited Madima on Wednesday and observed his recovery.
“I just came to visit him. I haven’t seen him for a long time. I am happy that he is recovering well, except that his left hand is still weak. With some exercise, he will recover. He is a prolific writer. He is still writing and showed me some of his published works. We are talking about a hero of the liberation struggle and a hero of literature who wrote more than 25 books,” said Mohadi.
Ambassador Matima’s last public appearance was two years ago and he has been bedridden ever since.
His health problems are part of wider issues plaguing Mnangagwa’s government, with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga also battling chronic health issues.
