WASHINGTON, D.C. – Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will give their first joint interview this week, which will air on CNN on Thursday.
The network reported the news on Tuesday, specifying that the show will be hosted by CNN political director and anchor Dana Bash and will air at 9:00 pm local time on Thursday (01:00 GMT Friday).
The interviews will take place as the Democratic candidate travels by bus on a tour of Georgia, one of the key states in winning the Nov. 5 presidential election.
According to CNN, although Harris has been interviewed by content creators and answered random questions from the media at various events, this will be her first “in-depth conversation” with reporters since President Joe Biden will announce his withdrawal from the White House race on July 21 and designate her as his successor.
The delay has been criticized within the Republican Party, including by former President and candidate Donald Trump and his No. 2, Ohio Senator Cyrus Vance, who have participated in numerous media conferences and interviews.
“It has been 37 days since Joe Biden was removed from office and Kamala Harris was named the Democratic nominee. Kamala has not given any interviews yet. There is a reason why he avoids the media. “He does not want to talk about his radical agenda,” the Republican campaign said Tuesday before CNN announced its exclusive report.
