NASSAU | The personal assistant to a junior Cabinet minister was arrested by police along with his spouse and will be charged with firearms offences this week, The Bahamas News Agency has learned.

New Providence detectives arrested the couple last week following an extensive investigation.
The personal assistant to the junior cabinet minister, who returned to the capital from Canada just weeks ago, is being tracked and monitored by an international intelligence team. She is from Bimini.
The move comes months after the Bahamas News Agency warned of serious security breaches within government offices and a lack of proper vetting procedures for personnel within highly sensitive government agencies and departments.
You cannot work for the government and at the same time traffic weapons into the country; assisting in the massacres and bloodbaths in our streets!
BP congratulates the Royal Bahamas Police Force, under the command of the highly respected Clayton Fernand, and their outstanding team of officers for making this significant weapons discovery.
