Brazil’s Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Morais on Friday ordered Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter, to immediately suspend its operations in Brazil. The social media network shut down its offices in Brazil earlier this month rather than obey a judge’s order to block dozens of accounts under investigation for false news or hate speech, an order Musk denounced as censorship. In the dispute over X, the court also blocked the local bank account of satellite company Starlink, which is 40% owned by Musk, leading the company to ask the court on Friday to suspend its ruling.
