On August 19, JS Ariake’s black belts participated in a special training session organized by the Palau Judo Federation. The team members who came to Palau participated in a one-hour training session with local judo students, which included drills, techniques and sparring.
The training was more than just a skill exchange, it was an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and build friendships through the sport of judo. The team also generously donated judo uniforms to the Palau Judo Federation to help support the development of judo in the country.
The Palau Judo Federation expressed its gratitude for the crew’s participation and donation, noting that the interaction greatly benefits the young athletes, giving them the opportunity to be exposed to international techniques and practices.
The visit and exchange further demonstrates the strong relationship between Palau and Japan, which goes beyond formal engagement and extends to the areas of sports and cultural exchanges.
