Jokowi: RAPBN 2025 must adapt to the president-elect’s plans

JAKARTA (ANTARA) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stressed that the Draft State Budget 2025 (RAPBN) needs to adapt to the plans set by President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“This morning, we will discuss the 2025 National Budget (APBN), and I hope that the 2025 National Budget (APBN) plan will cover all the plans of the president-elect,” President Joko Widodo said in his opening speech at a limited session at the Presidential Palace on Monday.

The limited meeting with several ministers from the advanced Indonesian Cabinet discussed the government’s work plan, financial statement and the draft state budget for 2025.

In his speech, President Joko Widodo highlighted the four points of RAPBN 2025.

President Jokowi also warned that the draft national budget should take into account the risks of a food crisis and rising oil prices caused by the global economic slowdown.

“The most important thing is to be aware of the risks of a slowing global economy, including interest rate policies and escalating geopolitical situations, which could lead to a food crisis and higher oil prices,” the president noted.

Third, President Joko Widodo hopes that the government’s work plan will optimize steps to achieve the goal of increasing national revenue.

In addition, Jokowi also emphasized policies to facilitate investment and export products.

Fourth, the President requested that the 2025 national budget focus on the plans of the President-elect.

“Fourth, we should focus on the 2025 national budget instead of trying to get everything done,” the president said.

During the limited meeting, President Joko Widodo sat in the center, with Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto on his right and State Secretary General Pratikno on his left.
