John Soriano has been appointed Deputy Governor of the Public Institutions of Bonaire, effective August 1, 2024, on the recommendation of the Secretary of State for Kingdom Relations and Digitalization.
Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond was sworn in at a ceremony at the Island Parliament on August 3, with guests and family members present.
The Kingdom’s Acting Representative Jan Helmond said at the swearing-in ceremony that he looked forward to good cooperation with the new Governor-General and wished him “wisdom, patience, good humor and, most importantly, good health to accomplish this difficult task with full energy.”
Afterwards, Bonaire residents had the opportunity to congratulate the governor.
