JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Residents of Pondok Ranggon village in Cipayung district, East Jakarta held Hajat Bumi Kramat Ganzen Festivals are held on Thursday (July 6, 2023) and Friday to preserve the Bedawi culture.
“The activity lasted from Thursday to Friday. Villagers placed a goat head on the border of Pondok Ranggon and Harjamukti villages in Depok district and held a procession,” said Jenuri, the head of Pondok Ranggon village, on Friday.
He explained that the goat’s head symbolizes the animal traits in humans.
“It’s just a symbol. The purpose is to thank God for the wealth given to Pondok Ranggon and hope that no disaster will happen to the area,” he said.
According to him, the festival activities are not serious but part of the combination of Bedawi and Sundanese cultural traditions with Islamic overtones that existed in the past.
In addition to the parade, residents of Pondok Ranggon also held a Talleyrand (a thanksgiving tradition) was held at the tomb of Kramat Ganceng, and donations were given to 500 orphans and the poor.
Activities during the festival include People’s Party (BJP) displays Betawi masks, baritone To express gratitude for the harvest, puppet shows Puppet Show, Ondre Ondreand Tangidor Traditional musical instrument performance.
Jenuri said, considering Hajat Bumi Kramat Ganzen The festival has not been held for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The public was very enthusiastic and many residents participated in the parade,” he said.
He therefore hoped that the festival, which is held every year in the month of Zulhija (the last month of the Islamic calendar), would continue as it promotes positive values.
“Besides preserving the Badawi culture, this event can also boost the community’s economy. Hundreds of small and medium enterprises participated in the People’s Party,” he said.
