Former US President Jimmy Carter will be 100 years old on October 1 next year. He is seriously ill and has been living in a nursing home since February last year. He has now set himself a goal that he hopes to achieve before he dies.

That’s according to his grandson Jason Carter, who told AFP that Carter’s goal was to live long enough to vote for Kamala Harris in the November presidential election.

Carter lives in Georgia, where absentee voting begins on October 15. Carter must hold out until then if he wants to achieve his goal.

He served as president from 1977 to 1981.
