Lebanese Forces leader Samir Jaja accused the Hezbollah-led coalition of dishonesty. “The resistance axis lied about everything,” Jaja asserted. He pointed out that they claimed that Christians did not unite behind one candidate, although Christians did support Jihad Azur during the important meeting on June 14, 2023.
Jejia stressed that Christians still support Azur. He also questioned the need for further dialogue, noting that there have been many discussions between parliamentary groups. Jejia believes that such calls for dialogue are a cover-up for electoral obstruction.
Jaja explained that the rival camps obstructed the presidential elections for two main reasons: their inability to secure a majority for their candidate and their strategy of waiting to see how regional events unfold, as the Lebanese issue ranked low on their priorities.
