Back-to-back world 200m champion Sherika Jackson will not compete in the Paris Olympic sprint double.

Jamaica Athletics manager Ludlow Watts confirmed to TVJ News today that Shashalee Forbes will take her place in the 100m event, which starts on Friday.

“All the information we can provide is that she will not compete in the 100 meters,” Watts told TVJ News.

Jackson, whose status has been questioned since she was injured in a match in Hungary earlier this month, practiced yesterday but did not practice today, according to MVP coach Stephen Francis.
