The capital’s City Hall explained the fact that cracks appeared at the construction site N5 on Brotseuli Street in Saburtalo on the one hand, and the slope collapse on Razmadze Street in Wacker on the other hand, and announced that the work on Brotseulei Street had been stopped and issued a decision to stop construction on Razmadze Street.

More specifically, according to the information from the City Hall, the customers of Brotseuli Street N5 were instructed to submit an additional study and take appropriate measures based on it. As for Razmadze Street, the agency explained that due to safety violations, the Municipal Supervisory Service fined the builder 30,000 GEL and issued a decision to suspend construction and ordered the builder to restore the damaged slope. Relevant experts will evaluate and make a constructive decision.

“Out of public interest, we would like to respond to the photos circulating on social networks showing cracks in the ongoing construction works at Brotseuli Street N5 in the Saburtalo district. At the above-mentioned address, by order of the Building Services of the Tbilisi City Hall, it has been agreed to build a multi-apartment residential project, which is implemented by “Gelovani Development” LLC.

The company had started laying foundations and beams but work has now been halted as cracks were discovered.

The Municipal Supervisory Office started an investigation. At this stage, according to the conclusions, the project includes constructive measures to safeguard possible risks.

The client was instructed to provide additional research and take appropriate action based on the research. The company confirmed to us that it has begun research into the cracks. The final results of the research will be presented in an appropriate form during the municipal inspection in the coming days.

In addition, we would like to provide an explanation for the fact that the fence collapsed on Razmaze Street in the Waki district.

A multi-storey residential project was being implemented at the above address after the adjustment. During the ongoing construction, the slope fell. In addition, the undercarriage was damaged.

Tbilisi City Supervisory Service responded to the incident in accordance with the law. In particular, the builder was fined 30,000 GEL by the city inspection for safety violations. In addition, a decision to stop the construction work was taken, and the builder was instructed to repair the damaged slope based on appropriate expert assessments and constructive decisions,” the city hall noted.
