U.S. President Joe Biden condemned Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure.
“I strongly condemn Russia’s war on Ukraine and Russia’s attempts to plunge the Ukrainian people into darkness. Let me be clear: Russia will never succeed in Ukraine, and the spirit of the Ukrainian people will never be broken,” Biden said in a statement.
He said the United States would continue to lead a coalition of more than 50 countries in supporting Ukraine.
“This alliance has provided Ukraine with much-needed military equipment, including air defense systems and interceptors. As I announced at the NATO summit in July, the United States and its allies have provided Ukraine with equipment for five additional strategic air defense systems. The United States is also providing energy equipment to Ukraine to repair its systems and increase the resiliency of Ukraine’s energy grid,” Biden said.
According to him, he recently told President Zelensky that the United States’ support for Ukraine is unwavering.
“Ukraine remains a free, sovereign, and independent nation, and Ukrainian troops fight every day to protect their homeland and their freedom. The United States will support the Ukrainian people until they win,” Biden said.
