Former US President Barack Obama said in a speech on the second day of the Democratic National Convention that the United States is ready to open a new chapter in history in the form of President Kamala Harris, and the United States is ready for President Harris.

“America is ready for a new chapter. America is ready for a better story. We’re ready for President Kamala Harris, and Kamala Harris is ready for the job,” Obama said.

According to him, choosing Harris and Waltz was not easy.

“This is going to be a tight race in a nation divided. In a nation where too many Americans don’t trust government to help. The people deciding the fate of this election are asking a very simple question: Who will fight for me? Who will think about my future? My children’s future? One thing is clear: Donald Trump is not losing any sleep over this question. Our job is to convince people that democracy can indeed succeed. Kamala understands that,” Obama said.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump believes power is only a means to an end, according to the former president.

“He vetoed a bipartisan immigration deal that would have helped secure our southern border because he thought it would hurt his campaign to try to actually address the issue,” Obama said.

He believes that Trump, who constantly complains about his problems, is afraid of losing to Kamala Harris and spreads conspiracy theories, is dangerous to the United States.

“We don’t need another four years of blowhards, incompetence and chaos. We’ve seen this movie before, and we all know the sequels are usually worse,” the former president said.
