The Gori District Court has sentenced a 15-year-old girl accused of murdering a 74-year-old man to two months of pretrial detention as a precautionary measure.
The defense requested bail, but the judge did not grant the motion.
Today’s proceedings were held behind closed doors as the accused are minors.
It is understood that the murder took place two days ago in the city of Khashuri, near the glass factory settlement. According to the available information, the girl used cold weapons to injure the taxi driver in multiple places and fled the scene of the crime.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 108 of the Criminal Code (suspected intentional homicide), a crime punishable by 10 to 15 years in prison.
