Mbappe’s departure from PSG would be a huge challenge for the club’s Qatari chairman Nassir Al-Khelaifi as the Champions League title remains elusive.

Paris Saint-Germain beat Lyon 2-1 in the French Cup final on Saturday to claim a domestic treble in Kylian Mbappe’s final game for the famous club.

The Ligue 1 and French Super Cup champions claimed their third title of the season thanks to goals from French star Ousmane Dembele and Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

Dembele headed home a cross from Nuno Mendes in the 23rd minute to open the scoring for PSG, and just 11 minutes later Ruiz found the back of the net for Lyon.

Lyon defender Jack O’Brien scored the only goal of the second half with a powerful header from a corner kick.

As the final whistle sounded, Mbappe high-fived his teammates to celebrate his last game, and was then lifted up and thrown into the air by Paris Saint-Germain staff.

“You feel it a little bit heavier because you realise it’s really over,” Mbappe told beIN Sports.

“I’ve been thinking about what’s happened over the last few years. It hurts a little to say it’s all over. What I have here, I can’t find anywhere else,” said the 25-year-old. “But I’m happy to have won a trophy.”

In seven seasons with PSG, Mbappe won 15 trophies, including four French Cups, and became the club’s all-time top scorer in all competitions with 256 goals in 308 games.

Despite failing to win the Champions League, which was the main goal of the club’s Qatari president Nassir Al-Khelaifi since he took over the team in 2011, Mbappe left PSG as the team’s greatest footballer.

Earlier this month, the France captain was awarded the Ligue 1 Best Player award for the fifth consecutive year at the UNFP Trophy ceremony.

Mbappe was widely expected to join Real Madrid, but his departure came as no surprise to the football world, as the departure of the young star has been a topic of discussion in the football world for several years.

Summer is coming, As Reported Real Madrid are considering three possible time frames to announce the signing of their latest Galacticos.

If Real Madrid beat German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 1, one option would be to announce Mbappe’s signing after the final.
