Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a consultative meeting was held to discuss the package of bills passed in first reading by the National Assembly, which propose changes to business tax rates.
In particular, tax policy issues were discussed with respect to the current status of the turnover tax system, existing problems and solutions.
The Prime Minister noted that the motives must be properly stated and stressed that the government has adopted a policy that Armenia should completely abolish the business tax, as it undermines the economy and the tax system and creates an unhealthy economic environment.
Nikol Pashinyan believes that it should be implemented in stages and move to a unified flat tax system.
As a result of the discussions, the Head of Government directed to continue taking necessary measures to improve the tax sector.
