– The supplier has now found a glitch that caused the police emergency number 112 to be unavailable for a period of time on Thursday evening. Shortly after midnight, the police department wrote in a press release that the error now appears to have been corrected and citizens can once again call 112 to report the incident.

Several police districts, including Oslo, Agder, Southwest, Finnmark and Inlandet, reported the problem had been resolved before midnight.

Three hours of sinking

The error occurred at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, and police experienced problems with the emergency number for about three hours until shortly after 9 p.m.

Residents in need are asked to call 02800.

Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter, operations manager for Oslo Police District, told NTB he was not aware of any major events they had missed due to these issues.

– We hope and trust that everyone who needs to contact us will be able to do so. “In any case, we have not received any information to indicate that we have missed anything,” he said.

Telenor: Technical error

Provider Telenor also confirmed the problem had been resolved. They blamed it on a technical error.

“The errors were related to migrating solutions to new technology systems. We need more time to analyze why exactly these types of calls are causing problems. We take this matter very seriously and will follow up on it carefully,” Telenor Communications Director Bård Flaarønning said in a press release. Nepal.

At the same time, he apologized for the inconvenience caused by the problem.
